What you have…IS ENOUGH!
[Part 2]

A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” 2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”

2 Kings 4:1, 2
New King James Version

Many of us can identify with this woman in the text that has had a feeling of insufficiency. There have been moments in our lives where we feel that what we had…just wasn’t enough. This mother was going through a season of deficiency.

We shared with the congregation that living with a mentality of deficiency is dangerous. A mentality of deficiency can limit one’s options and can lower one’s expectations This type of mindset will cause a person to settle and not want to achieve greater in life. The mentality of deficiency will hinder one’s destiny.

As a result of her mindset of deficiency, this mother chooses to have a discussion with the prophet by the name of Elisha. The discussion shares with us a question being asked by Elisha. He asks, “What can I do for you and what do you have in your house?” What seems to be problematic is her answer to what was asked. This mother says, “I have nothing, but a jar of oil in the house.” The tension in the text reveals that this mother, who developed a mentality of deficiency, only sees nothing when she really has something.

This mother who felt like she was down to nothing, did not realize this is when God is up to something. God is able to see something in what we call nothing. God is able to do an exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think; according to the power that is working within us. The reason why we say that “WHAT YOU HAVE IS ENOUGH” is because the power is already at work within you.

Always remember, what you have is enough because YOU ARE ENOUGH. IT WILL BE YOUR AVAILABILTY THAT BRINGS OUT GOD’S ABILITY! This ability of Deity will reveal a life of efficiency as oppose to deficiency! WHEN YOU ARE DOWN TO NOTHING…GOD IS UP TO SOMETHING! When you trust and never doubt…HE [GOD] WILL SURELY BRING YOU OUT!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!
