WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE BELIEVE IN GOD

We believe there is only one true and living God. He is immutable, infinite, and able to do the impossible.  He is the Creator and Sustainer of All things was, is and will be according to [Psalm 24:1].

WE BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus is not only the Son of God but He is also God according to [John 1:1-3]. Jesus Christ is the 2nd person of the Godhead that is representative of the Blessed Trinity and the only begotten Son of the Father [John 3:16].  Jesus is Savior, Lord Christ, and the incarnate reality of God. He was the walking revelation of God’s love to humanity that is expressed in His name Emmanuel “God with us.”  He is grace personified and love that is exemplified through the Father’s redemptive plan for salvation.

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Godhead.   He is the person in the Holy Trinity that secures our salvation when it comes to the sealing according to Ephesians 4:30.  He is presented as the Comforter for the Discipleship upon the departure of Jesus Christ from earth to glory [John 14:14-17].  He is the one who gives us spiritual gifts to exercise within the Body of Christ [I Corinthians 12].  We are instructed to walk in the Spirit, be led by the Spirit, and live by the Spirit according to [Galatians 5:16-25].

WE BELIEVE IN SCRIPTURE

We believe that the scripture is God’s Word. It is his written authority for the Church. The scripture was given to ordinary men through inspiration. The scripture is inerrant in principle and infallible in content according to [2 Timothy 3:16, 17].

WE BELIEVE IN SALVATION

We believe in God’s saving grace; that the blessings of salvation are free to all through the Gospel; that the requisite of acceptance is a thankful, penitent and obedient faith; that nothing interferes with the salvation of the sinner except his refusal of the Gospel. Man’s disbelief is his condemnation.  For by grace are we saved through faith; not of ourselves but it is the gift of God [Eph. 2:8].

WE BELIEVE IN BAPTISM

We believe baptism is an ocular demonstration of God’s inward renewal in the life of the believer. In baptism our names are changed. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we are placed under the authority of God’s power and protection. It is the symbol of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection to a new life according to Romans 6:1-6.  It is through baptism that we are immersed, submersed and emerged which speaks to dying to sin, dead to sin and raised in the newness of life.

WE BELIEVE IN THE CHURCH

We believe in the church. The church is what Jesus spoke of building in Matthew 16:18.   It is the church that where believers who are unified by God’s Word and live together as a faith community.  The church is not a building with a steeple but instead a group of people being developed as Disciples of Christ committed to Kingdom building where there is fellowship that is bonded by our relationship with God.
