GOD’S LIFE ASSURANCE
[HOPE-PART II]
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Romans 8:28-30 New King James Version
The wordly view of insurance has expectations from the policy holder. There are premiums and monthly payments that need to be current for the policy to be valid. However, when it comes to GOD’S LIFE ASSURANCE, there are no premiums or payments because Jesus paid it all and all to Him we owe. The question is: Are you covered? In order to have GOD’S LIFE ASSURANCE, you need to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life.
Looking at the policy of this Godly Assurance, we look at the opening verse that says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” This gives us the ASSURANCE that for believers, that there is no uncertainty or insecurity as to our eternal home in heaven. Instead of condemnation there is a glorification that speaks to God’s Assurance that heaven is our destination because of our personal relationship with God. This is what is being suggested in vs. 30 that speaks to “…He also glorified us.” God’s promise based on vs. 1 that says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. So the good news is, we are not responsible for making payments to keep the policy but instead GOD IS THE POLICY KEEPER BECAUSE HE KEEPS HIS PROMISES. THIS IS THE GODLY ASSURANCE!
There is also an ASSURANCE when it comes to our text that says, “AND WE KNOW…” Knowing speaks to a confidence that is NEVER in question. Knowing removes all doubts and calms all our fears. When it comes to “all things,” there is an ASSURANCE THAT THEY ARE ALL WORKING FOR GOOD. Notice, it is working FOR GOOD and not FOR OUR GOOD. We misquote this passage and do misinterpret the scripture. What the scripture suggests is that, whatever you are going through, IT IS NOT LIMITED FOR YOUR GOOD BUT WORKS OUT FOR THE GOOD!
In other words, what you are going through is not just for you but God has you on assignment for others development and your future appointment. It is all working for THE GOOD…and not just limited for your good. This speaks to us being favored and not necessarily God’s favorite. His favor allows you to be blessed but also others to benefit. It’s all working together FOR GOOD!
