GOD’S HAS SOMETHING NEW!
18 But the Lord says, “Do not cling to events of the past
or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do.
It is happening already–you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness
and give you streams of water there.
Isaiah 43:18, 19 Good News Translation
This passage of scripture is good news for those of us in the faith. God is saying, “I am going to do something new…” speaks of a new season, new chapter or a new day that He has in store. Whatever God has new, does not require us to redo what is old. The problem is when many people fail embrace what God has next while entertaining our exes. God’s new cannot be fully appreciated with an old mentality of yesterday.
There is a phrase that seems to be contradictory in the text but it is really revolutionary. There is a clause in vs. 19 that seem to be troubling but it is really telling!
Watch for the new thing I am going to do.
It is happening already–you can see it now!
The phrase in question speaks to what God is going to do but in the same verse it speaks of it as already happened. How is it possible to be going to do and already being done at the same time. According to Isaiah 46:10 it says that, “…God declares the ending from the beginning…” In other words, God always finishes before he starts.
Many who have a hard time understanding this concept, need to remember when you were expecting a baby. When someone is pregnant, it simply means that a BABY IS ON THE WAY. However, what is interesting about a BABY BEING ON THE WAY, are the things we find ourselves doing ALREADY.
Baby is on the way….but we already have the baby’s room picked out.
Baby is on the way…but we already have a closet full of baby clothes.
Baby is on the way…but we already have purchased car seats and strollers.
In other words, whenever A BABY IS ON THE WAY, many times we make purchases as if the BABY IS ALREADY HERE. This is what vs. 19 is saying. God has something new ON THE WAY, but is ALREADY HERE! THANK GOD THAT WHAT IS ON THE WAY IS ALREADY HERE BECAUSE WHEN IT IS ALREADY IN THE MIND OF GOD THEN IT MEANS IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT BECOMES A REALITY!
THANK GOD….WHAT GOD HAS NEW…IT’S ON THE WAY AND IT’S ALREADY HERE!
