GODLY INSIGHTS FOR HUMANITY’S ISSUES

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Mark 5:25 King James Version

We are introduced to a woman in the text who has an issue. It is referred as an issue of blood. When looking this text, it is our intention to reveal her issue to expose humanity’s multiple issues. We look for Godly insight that will illuminate us to eliminate our issues.

God allows Mark to focus on the affect of the blood issue and not necessarily the cause. We are not privy to the cause but the effects of her issue of blood that isolated her. According to the law, the book of Leviticus provides us a perspective of this woman’s social challenge in chapter 15. The text says:

25 “If a woman has a flow of blood for many days that is unrelated to her menstrual period, or if the blood continues beyond the normal period, she is ceremonially unclean. As during her menstrual period, the woman will be unclean as long as the discharge continues. 26 Any bed she lies on and any object she sits on during that time will be unclean, just as during her normal menstrual period. 27 If any of you touch these things, you will be ceremonially unclean. You must wash your clothes and bathe yourself in water, and you will remain unclean until evening.

This woman in our text is challenged socially, religiously, emotionally and mentally because of her illness isolated her. This was the affects of her issue. However, when we look at the issues of Humanity, we turn our attention to the text that speaks to generational issues.

Mark chapter 5:21, introduces us to a father who had a 12-year-old sick daughter. He comes to Jesus to seek His help. As they proceed to go to the father’s house to tend to his sick daughter, this woman interrupts their journey to deal with her infirmity. In other words, this woman with a 12-year-old issue interrupts the healing of a 12-year old daughter who was dying. Here it is, many young people are dying [not physically but mentally, emotionally, economically] because adults have failed to deal with their issues. When our issues in adulthood remain, our youth are being detained and robbed of their childhood.

The revelation in this text is that an issue that starts out as a minor problem can potentially grow into a major problem. The text reveals this in verses 25 and 29.

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

The Godly Insight is failure to give God our issues can allow them to grow from an issue to a fountain and from a fountain to a plaque!
