FOR HIS GLORY
[PART II]

4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So the Israelites did this.
Exodus 14:4

Moses shares a story that conveys God’s thoughts on glory concerning Himself. It is in Exodus 14:4 that says, “…But I will gain glory for myself…” It’s one thing for us to give God glory but it is another for God to bring Himself glory.

Moses and the children of Israel find themselves between mountains and rocks. In other words, they find themselves between a ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. Sometimes when we find ourselves between a rock and a hard place it is not always because we have done something wrong. However, this rock and hard place in our text, was under the direction of God. Our being in between a rock and hard place is not for our difficulty but for God’s Glory!

The question is why would God put them in between a rock and a hard place?
This question is answered in verse 4.

  • And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So the Israelites did this.

God wanted Pharaoh, all his army and Egyptians to know that HE WAS THE LORD!!!!!

The lesson here is:
Whenever you find yourself between a rock and a hard place while facing your red sea, just know that it may not be your fault but because He has favored you. It will be God using this difficult situation to bring you VICTORY AND BRING HIMSELF GLORY BY WAY OF THE ENEMY.

REMEMBER:
Genesis chapter 50:20 reminds us that what the enemy meant for evil, God can turn it around for our good.

God Bless you!
