AIN’T NO STOPPING US NOW!
[PART I]

When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home. 2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching God’s word to them.

Mark 2:1, 2
New Living Translation

It was in the year of 1979 that a popular song was out called: Ain’t no stopping us now. One of the lyrics said, “Don’t you let nothing, nothing…stand in your way…” It is parallel to this song that this scripture we have found a similar challenge of people and things getting in the way. However, like the song suggests, AIN’T NO STOPPING US NOW….WE ARE ON THE MOVE!

This passage introduces us to 4 people who cared about one person who had a condition that was paralyzing. This condition limited his movement for advancement but these men refused to let anything or anyone stop them from getting this paralyzed man to Christ who was in a state of crisis. One of the lessons we learned in this passage was that there was a crowd that kept the paralyzed man and the men in his company from getting to Christ.

They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd,

It is strange that sometimes the people who claim they are on their way, are the same people who can get in the way. Sometimes the Christ following crowd can become a distraction, disturbance or detriment to other disciples who are trying to get close or closer to Jesus. Why? It is because everybody in church is not necessarily in Christ.

Every church has a Christ following crowd who are known as the Tater Family.

They are dictator, agitator, instigator, commentator and spectator. This family is among the Christ following crowd that can become an obstructer to those of us who are trying to get close or closer to the Savior.

If all you see is the Christ following crowd in church then your perspective is too low. The choice the 4 men made was to climb upon the roof of the house . In other words, sometimes to get beyond the Christ following crowd means you have to get above the crowd. If all you see is the crowd then you are on the wrong level. The point is: SOMETIMES BEFORE THERE CAN BE AN ELEVATION BY CHRIST THEN THERE MUST BE AN ELIMINATION OF THOSE IN THE CROWD.

God Bless
