Giving Thanks For The Word Of God
Philippians 4:6 -7 (CEB)
6 Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. 7 Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.
Worry and Anxiety are different from concern. You can be concerned about something but when we allow our concerns to become all-consuming that is when we have become anxious.
Paul understood the natural tendency to become anxious. He knew that anxiety is one of the greatest thieves of our joy. As we approach each day and each holiday season we need the word of God to help us to get through it. Jesus told us in Matthew 6 v. 25-33 that as should not worry or have anxiety over anything. He would take care of us. Worry will pull tomorrows cloud over today’s sunshine. The enemy wants to cloud our today and he uses the tool that God gave us to do it with — and that is our mind.
God has told us “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29 v. 11. When we become stressed and depressed, giving thanks for the word of God will help us to get through it. As we repeat His word back to him, we will find ourselves feeling better.
We are told that the anxiety will be replaced with peace. After you have prayed, after you have given thanks then the peace of God will, not might, but the peace of God will come upon you that goes beyond all understanding and it will keep your hearts and minds safe in Jesus Christ.
He wants us to have peace in every way. Get your favorite scripture or scriptures, read them, pray and Give Thanks for the Word Of God. Jesus said: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
